Coif

Coifs were the most used head coverings for men, women and children of all ages and classes. These tightly fitting caps where tied under the chin and are believed to have started off in the 11/12th century. You can see them under the kings crowns into the 14th century, under bycoket's, sugar stacks and of course hoods.
