Crespinette started in the 13th century to hold the hair in place. It the 13th century it was more like a net over the hair made of silk thread, as it went into the 14th and 15th century it could also be in gold wire and encrusted with gems and pearls.
Templars, introduced by queen Phillipa in the 14th century they where normally metal cylinders that hang down the side of the head, containing platted hair which, these wear normally encrusted in Jews or pearls or decretive metal work supported from a circlet.
